Overview – As part of a greater 132kV construction project, Ausgrid had a small window of opportunity to complete the crossing of the M2 with overhead conductors. Ausgrid engaged Harnleigh to complete this project including all project coordination with various authorities.
Scope
To complete all tasks within an 11 day window, stringing 132kV conductor over the M2 (one of Sydney’s busiest motorways)
Excavate, install 2 x 30m steel poles and string 132kV conductors
Project coordination with numerous third parties including Ausgrid, M2 Transurban, Optus, Roads Maritime Services and Jemena (gas)
Outcomes
High risk construction work in a very difficult location. Significant exposure to numerous risks for staff, third parties and the public. Through careful job planning, collaboration with various authorities, Harnleigh was able to mitigate or remove hazards from the worksite to deliver the job safely
Harnleigh was able to deliver this complex project safely and within the allocated window, proving Harnleigh’s capability and capacity to deliver complex high-risk projects
By working with all relevant stakeholders, Harnleigh was able to deliver this project in the allocated window providing our client considerable cost savings in M2 outage shutdown costs
